Experience History at Dayton Aviation Heritage National Park

Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park in Dayton, OH preserves the birthplace and legacy of three aviation pioneers: the Wright brothers, John Glenn, and Neil Armstrong. The park is situated on Huffman Prairie Flying Field, where the Wright brothers perfected their flying skills. The park also includes a visitors center with exhibits on the history of flight, as well as a theater showing a short film about the Wright brothers. There are also several outdoor displays of aircraft and artifacts. John Glenn's boyhood home is also located within the park boundaries and is open for tours. Neil Armstrong's boyhood home is not open to the public, but it can be seen from a distance.

The Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park in Dayton, OH was established in 1992 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of powered flight. In 2003, the park was designated as the national park service's first affiliated area of study, and it is now the home of the National Park Service's Dayton Aviation Heritage Preservation Office. The Wright brothers are buried in the park's cemetery.
