About Kettering, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Kettering is a suburb of Dayton, Ohio located in both Montgomery and Greene counties. According to the 2010 United States Census, Kettering has a population of about 56,000. It is the largest suburb in the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Kettering was originally settled as farmland from the late 1700s to the mid-1800s. As the population of the area began to grow, the creation of the now defunct Van Buren Township was begun in 1841. The Village of Kettering was incorporated into the township in November 1952. By 1955, the population of the village had grown enough to claim city status and Kettering was incorporated as a city on June 24th, 1955.
Kettering is full of notable attractions and features. The city has 20 parks that consist of a combined 284 acres. The city is home to the Fraze Pavilion, a major outdoor entertainment venue. Skate Plaza is a 40,000 square foot skateboard park that opened in 2005. The park was a collaboration between the City of Kettering and local professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek. The Rosewood Arts Center hosts about 100,000 guests per year and offers art classes and exhibitions and also hosts the Art on the Commons festival.
Kettering has mild, pleasurable summers that are ideal for the Dayton Philharmonic’s summer concert series hosted at Fraze Pavilion. Daytime highs tend to remain in the mid-80s and dip into the 60s at night. Residents will want to have their cooling systems inspected before the warmer temperatures arrive in the area to ensure they are prepared for any possible heat wave that might visit the area. In contrast, winters in Kettering tend to be very cold with plenty of snow. Having a heating system that is equipped to handle the colder weather that is common in the area can literally be a life saver.
